It is a traditional and very special German bread only available during the Christmas season. It is called “Weihnachtsstollen” (after “Weihnachten”, the German word for Christmas) or "Christstollen" (after Christ).
Stollen is a fruit bread of nuts, spices and dried or candied fruits, coated with powdered sugar and contains real marzipan from Lubeca in Germany.
The Christstollen tradition is already over 700 years old and is still very popular during Christmas. Originally, the popular Christmas biscuit is a special bread made by monks and was only baked in December before Christmas eve.
Tradition says that the shape of the "Christstollen" with its white powder sugar coat symbolizes the Christ child wrapped in white towels.
Our Stollen contains only best ingredients and no artificial preservatives.
